For 8 Days, 72-Year-Old Pleaded For Water In Delhi’s Dilshad Garden; His Own Family Locked Him & Left

A case of a 72-year-old man locked in a flat in Delhi’s Dilshad Garden  without food and water for eight days has shocked the capital. The elderly man had been locked up by his own family members and did not bother coming to see him.

Finally, the old man screamed for water which alerted the neighbour who promptly contacted an NGO. The lock of the flat was broken and the elderly was taken to the hospital in a critical condition. However, he is said to be stable now.

72-year-old Amarjeet Singh lives in flat L-227 in Dilshad Garden. He has no children and about seven years ago, his wife died too. The 72-year-old had rented out one room of the flat while his brother’s family lived in Uttam Nagar.
